Booze-Free, But Never Boring: The Best Non-Alcoholic Drinks at The Yan

Published on Mar 14, 2025

Let’s be honest—sometimes you just don’t fancy a drink that leaves you with a hangover the size of Helvellyn. Maybe you’re the designated driver (our deepest sympathies), maybe you’re on a self-imposed ‘dry spell’ (good luck), or maybe you just want to prove that you can still have a cracking time without a pint in your hand. Whatever the reason, we’re here to tell you that alcohol-free doesn’t mean fun-free. Not on our watch.

At The Yan, over half of our drinks menu is non-alcoholic—because why should teetotalers and the "just-one-drinkers" miss out on the good stuff? We've put as much love, care, and possibly unnecessary amounts of taste-testing into our booze-free drinks as we have into our classic cocktails. So, let’s introduce you to a few of our favourites.

The ‘Who Needs Booze Anyway’ Crowd-Pleasers

Yan Soft Spritz

Ever been to a fancy bar, asked for a non-alcoholic drink, and ended up with a sad glass of tap water with a slice of lemon floating in it? Not here, pal. Our Yan Soft Spritz is a proper refresher, made with our own fruit cordials, crafted right here on the farm. It’s served long, cold, and fizzy—like a summer’s day in a glass (though let’s be real, Cumbrian summers are 50% rain).

Bax Botanics & Tonic

This one’s for the G&T lovers who’ve gone temporarily (or permanently) off the hard stuff. Made with all the complexity of a real gin, but none of the alcohol, Bax Botanics comes in two flavours: Verbena (for that citrusy, herby kick) and Sea Buckthorn (for the kind of botanical brilliance that makes you feel like a foraging expert). Add tonic, a wedge of something fancy, and there you have it—a ‘gin’ and tonic that tastes like the real deal, minus the next-day regrets.

Tirrell Brewery Point Five Pilsner – 0.5% ABV

Look, sometimes you just want a proper pint. This crisp, low-alcohol lager from Tirrell Brewery delivers on all the taste without the wobbly walk home. British malts, Saarz lager hops, and a refreshing finish—it’s the kind of drink that’ll have you questioning why you ever needed the full-strength stuff in the first place.

Kolonne Null Riesling – 0.5% ABV

Wine lovers, we see you. You’ve spent years suffering through de-alcoholised wines that taste like watered-down grape juice, haven’t you? Well, we’ve got news for you—this Riesling actually tastes like wine. Proper crisp, properly dry, and actually enjoyable with food (or, y’know, just by itself if you’re that way inclined). It’s proof that ‘low-alcohol wine’ doesn’t have to mean ‘disappointment in a glass’.

Mocktails: Because You Deserve More Than Just a Fizzy Pop

Strawberry & Verbena Margarita

Who says you need alcoholic tequila to enjoy a Margarita? This little beauty is packed with fresh strawberry, lemon, and a hint of verbena to give it that extra zing. Served with a salted rim (because some traditions are sacred), it’s the kind of drink that makes you feel like you’re on holiday—even if the only beach around here is a particularly pebbly bit of Windermere’s shoreline.

Beer Peche

Now, this one’s a bit of an Alpine throwback. Imagine a lager (non-alcoholic, of course) topped with Peach & Ginger cordial—crisp, fruity, and just a little bit fancy. It’s the kind of drink that’ll transport you straight to a ski lodge, even if you’re just watching the rain lash against the windows of the Lakes.

Who Said Sober Had to be Sensible?

So there you have it—a booze-free drinks menu that doesn’t skimp on the flavour, the fun, or the excuse to stay a little longer by the fire. Whether you’re cutting down, cutting out, or just cutting through a long drive home, we’ve got something worth sipping on.

Come and give ‘em a go—we promise you won’t miss the booze (well, not too much).
