Our bistro bedrooms include spacious superking rooms that sleep up to four, perfect for families who want a little extra comfort. If you’re after something more home-from-home, our self-catering cottages give you the flexibility to cook, spread out, and relax at your own pace—ideal for longer stays or fussy eaters who just want beans on toast.
For something a little different, our luxury glamping pods sleep up to three guests, offering all the fun of outdoor living without sacrificing comfort. Fully insulated with underfloor heating, a log burner, and a Smart TV, they’re the perfect mix of adventure and cosiness. Step outside, and you’re greeted by stunning views of Helm Crag—a pretty great way to start the day.
The best part? The adventure starts the moment you step outside. With fells to climb, lakes to paddle in, and trails to explore straight from the door, there’s no shortage of things to do. From Helm Crag’s rocky summit to a gentle wander to Easedale Tarn, there’s a walk for every ability (and energy level). For families with little legs or prams in tow, the Miles Without Stiles routes offer scenic, pushchair-friendly walks with all the views but none of the stiles—perfect for a stress-free amble through the Lakes.
After a full day of fresh air, refuelling is sorted. Our family-friendly bistro serves up proper hearty food, with a kids' menu full of crowd-pleasers and a relaxed, welcoming vibe. No stiff, formal dining here—just cracking food, good company, and no judgement if someone turns up in their pyjamas. And if all else fails and the plan for dinner deteriorates, we can deliver hot food straight to your room, pod or cottage to enjoy with the kids in your own space. Or even better... in peace once they've crashed out.

Family Friendly Accommodation
All of our options above are family-friendly accommodation, babies (not yet walking at the time of stay) are free of charge and there is plenty of room for a travel cot, in all of the above accommodations, if needed. We have the Hauck Travel Cot, Set Sleep N Play Centre with changing table, available at a £10 additional charge, just choose it as an extra on check out. Start with Easedale Tarn, just a stone’s throw from Grasmere Village. This gentle hike leads you up into the hills with breathtaking views, finishing at the ultimate picnic spot by the tarn—perfect for a family day out!
Or, for an easier trek (perfect for pushchairs), head over to Rydal Water and Cave. The scenic shoreline walk is great for all ages, and the cave adds a touch of adventure for your little wanderers.
