Dark Skies Winter Adventure Walk

Explore the Forest at Night with JAG Outdoors

Join JAG Outdoors for a unique nighttime adventure through the forest and up onto the fell tops. This 5-7 mile walk promises breathtaking views and, if the weather is clear, a chance to stargaze under Cumbria’s dark skies.

Led by Jo, an amateur astronomer, you’ll get to identify constellations with star maps and guides on hand. This is a more challenging event than the usual Dark Skies Walks, taking 2-3 hours to complete and covering a range of surfaces that may be wet and muddy.

What to Bring: Sturdy clothing and footwear for Cumbria’s cold, wet weather, extra layers, waterproofs, snacks, and a flask of something warm. Each participant should bring a torch (a red filter is ideal for stargazing stops).

All Ages Welcome: Dogs, children, and even babies in carriers can join (free for babies). Children under 12 must stay close to an adult, and older kids need an adult on-site.
