Full of family fun - Wordsworth Grasmere

Step back in time and explore Dove Cottage, with a child-friendly handling basket for your little ones. Play in the Woodland and gardens, where you will find family trails, a bug house and mini pond. Relax in the Sensory Garden or explore with a sensory story sack.

Have fun in the Museum with activities including quill and ink writing, sketching and charades. Younger children will love dressing up and playing with Georgian toys. Fans of Minecraft can try a game about Wordsworth’s childhood adventures. For children with SEND, request an explorer backpack full of sensory objects.

Family activities led by our Education Team take place during school holidays and are free with admission. Throughout the year, there are special events for families, from wellbeing days and poetry trails to storytelling and Christmas crafts.
